VA Apartment

The controversial and iconic Bretagne Building, was considered one of the ten best buildings to live in the world, according to the British Magazine Wallpaper. We started with the renovation of the apartment, using elements of this building, but with a con temporary view through the materials used in the architecture and furnishings.

The main access of the apartment is made through a tunnel of corten steel, which serves as a connection between the intimate and social area. This tunnel is part of the large bookcase that runs along the length of the living room, and also houses the entir e history of the residents: books, lamps, photos, artwork and a bar. The room is arranged as a single space : without separations brings the family together for dinner, listening to music and watching TV,

The sideboard and the furniture of the television, designed by the studio, make reference to the "golden age" in which the building was constructed: gold rings and pink marble form the sideboard, while wood and a metallic mesh, the movable of the TV.

The intimate, minimalist area in its use, stands out f or the cheerful children's space: two colorful rooms that are interconnected by a common area, providing individualit and coexistence for children. The couple's suite features a raised upholstered leather headboard that serves as support for works of art a nd other objects.
