FT Apartment
2014ResidencialThe 98m² apartment located at one of the pop neighborhoods in São Paulo city had its interior dated back from the 1950s. The challenge was to renovate it for the young owner in her late 20s to use both as a living home and a working place, where she would receive both friends and clients.
The walls were peeled down to use the concrete structure as a lower-cost design frame for the apartment. In order to contrast with the thick brut appearance of the walls, all the fixed furniture was built with 5mm thin delicate metal sheets. The volume of the shelves and closet structures in the living room configures the porticos that frames the doors that lead to the rooms. They also host the indirect lighting projected onto the walls, which allowed to preserve the original structure of the place, that was stripped down for its charming touch. The character of the apartment is spiced up with the blend of furniture designers, mixing European and Brazilian artistry, from Christian Dell to Sergio Rodrigues.
